"Whether it is through choreography, improvisation, or technique based classes - I strive to create an open, comfortable, collaborative environment where my students feel empowered to take risks, explore, and express themselves. I have taught in many spaces, and use methods from the 'Leadership Tools For the Dance Leader' course taught by Dr. Arnel Calvario (Culture Shock Intl.) to help aide in the many modes of effective communication for student growth and understanding in educational spaces. All students learn differently, and I aim to understand and anticipate the needs of the artists I work with". - Alexis Iritani

About

Through Alexis' 15 years of choreographic experience, she has had the privilege of learning from incredible mentors in the industry. From Kyle Abraham (AIM, Royal Ballet, NYCB) to Sorah Yang and MaryAnn Chavez to Monika Felice Smith, she has had guidance through hands on university and professional programs to elevate her expertise and work.

International commercials, award winning dance films, competition stages and choreographic showcases are a few of the places her work lives. She continues to evolve and loves to collaborate, and hopes to keep pushing of her pursuit to make moves for film and tv.

Each solo commission is tailored to the specific dancer at hand. Whether it be a collaborative process or fully set choreography, Alexis aims to create with mindfulness to whomever she works with!

Group Choreography

From groups, lines, productions, and production numbers, Alexis has a broad range of experience in choreographing for large amounts of dancers. She prides herself in utilizing choreography to the dancers' advantages by both highlighting strengths while pushing capabilities with artistic growth at the focal point.

Alexis holds multiple Choreography Awards, including Competition and the Film Festival Circuit.

Small Group Choreography

Duos, Trios, Quads

For duo, trio, and smaller group choreography, Alexis has a multitude of experiences to pull from. She has created for small groups of dancers in both competitive and performance spaces. She focuses on highlighting the individual dancers alongside an effort to create a cohesive unit .
