About Alexis
Alexis Iritani is a passionate, multidisciplinary creative. A choreographer, director, actor, dance artist, and lifelong student who challenges the boundaries of movement and storytelling.
Alexis Iritani (she/her) grew up in the Bay Area where her foundational training at the San Ramon Valley Dance Academy included 15 years of ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and hip hop/ street dance styles.
Shortly after, she studied Dance, Food Studies, and Pre PT at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her choreographic contributions were featured twice in the university wide 'Spring Sing', "UCLA's Oldest and Greatest Tradition". During the pandemic, she directed her debut dance film '13%' for the undergraduate online performance 'Wacsmash', which obtained many international film festival awards afterwards.
Simultaneously, Alexis became a choreographer and company dance artist of Icarus Contemporary Dance Company. She was appointed a director position in the latter two years of her involvement.
She also held the Treasurer position, and voluntarily taught technique classes at the Girls Academic Leadership Academy in Central Los Angeles for Movement Exchange at UCLA.
After graduating from UCLA with a BA, she moved to London to pursue a MFA at Trinity Laban in London. She studied dance film and choreography in her multidisciplinary program. Her dissertation presentation included an installation of three films, a documentary, and interactive elements throughout the space. She graduated with her postgraduate degree in December 2023.
Her recent career highlights include working with Givenchy Beauty as a principal dance artist and model in the 'Irresistible is Us II' Global Ad Campaign, going viral for her 2025 choreography "Pacer", and assisting Galen Hooks in both her Night of Dance and Intensive events in both London and the Bay Area. Alexis trains in acting under Rachel Paulson, and hopes to continue her artistic career in a multitude of avenues.
Alexis' decade of choreography experience comes from a diverse background of movement. She is currently based in both London and San Francisco, teaches lessons to students of all experience levels, and instructs in both online and in person settings.
She is a proud member of the Asian American Pacific Islander community, and uses her background at the forefront of her creative work. Her artistic passion shows through creating with purpose and authenticity. She lives and leads by example, and is driven to learn in any experience and environment she finds herself in.

POSTGRAD

After wanting to conduct more in depth research, Alexis transferred from the MA to MFA program, and presented her dissertation installation in July 2023! She graduated in December after submitting her written thesis in September.

ASSISTING
GALEN HOOKS

Alexis assisted Galen at both the London Night of Dance and GHM Classic Intensives! Galen gave her a personal shoutout on Instagram with her Alum Success Story.

BIG CHANGES

Alexis moved to London to pursue an MA at Trinity Laban, and self booked her first international ad campaign for Givenchy Beauty!

THE GALEN HOOKS METHOD

In July 2021, Alexis took The Galen Hooks Method Gameplan Intensive in Los Angeles.

BA GRADUATION!

Alexis graduated UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in Dance and a Minor in Food Studies from the WAC/D Department!
